With recent rising prices and some traditional ways of making a living being threatened, the new or prospective retiree is starting to wonder how to generate extra money. There are multiple reasons for this. Many have watched their savings erode significantly because of the volatile stock market. Others have seen their retirement future jeopardized because of changes in the economy or in their own life. It has gotten people to wonder if there’s an ideal business that can generate income even in times like this and the answer is a definite yes.
In fact, you’re actually experiencing part of the ideal business right now. The internet is filled with possibilities for any retiree, or anyone at any age, to create a business with a very small investment and generate an income from a platform twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The ideal business, in my opinion, is creating content that people will search for and find interesting and informative. It creates an audience that comes to your website for information about a topic they’re interested in. As they read the articles that you post, they become more interested and want to find out more.
Once a person reaches that stage, all you need to do is to lead them to what they’re looking for. Perhaps it’s a book or a service or it can even be an actual product because, as you know, almost anything can be bought online and shipped. Your income is based on the fact that you referred them to the place where they made the purchase. This is called affiliate marketing and it’s an ideal business because you don’t need a large investment and you don’t need to be a technical wizard anymore. There are companies that will get you started and guide you every step of the way.

It’s easier than ever to publish a book and, if it’s on a specific topic, having a website devoted to informing your visitor about that subject can lead to a sale of a book you’ve written or to an online “store” where there are many books on the topic for sale and the fact that you led them there will mean that anything they buy because of that referral will put some money in your topic. Why couldn’t it be something that you have written? It’s being done every day, and I can tell you from experience that the journey is an exciting one and worth every ounce of effort you put into it.
Don't think for a minute that you're too old to try something new. Some retirees have become novelists, artists or even set out for a career on stage. That's what retirement is for. To do the things you always dreamed about but didn't have the time to do. Now, you have the time. Don't let a second chance go to waste. Take inspiration from Harlan Sanders who didn't start Kentucky Fried Chicken until he retired. Look at Winston Churchill who was 65 when he became Prime Minister and led Great Britain through the war to save the free world. Michelangelo was seventy-two years old when he designed the dome of St. Peter's Basilica and Frank Lloyd Wright was ninety-one when he completed his work on the Guggenheim Museum. Age is a number that we shouldn't let control us. You can do anything you want. If Benjamin Franklin could invent bifocal glasses at seventy-nine, you can certainly build a website no matter how old you are.
Again, don’t worry about whether you know enough about the technical side of the equation to make this happen.
